We are pleased to introduce you to Champions for Girls! Sharon & Hank Stokes. Sharon and Hank are the owner/operators of Beach House Home Inspections, LLC.

Sharon was born in Charleston, SC but moved frequently growing up, attending high school in Seattle and then moving to Georgia after graduating. Hank was born in Atlanta, GA and stayed put for all of his childhood and early adult life. Though Sharon and Hank came from very different backgrounds they found each other when they were young adults, fell in love and married at 22. At 25 they had their only child, a daughter, and were also very involved in their church. They served as children’s ministers at their church in Georgia before later moving to Gallup, New Mexico to be missionary pastors. Gallup was not a random choice, they moved there because of its proximity to the Navajo Nation. For 17 years they served Gallup and the surrounding Navajo community.

In addition to their work in the church, Hank was a skilled jack of all trades. His career path took him from the parts department at a car dealership to working with HVAC’s and eventually a building engineer in one of the largest high schools in Cobb County. His vast knowledge of how machines and buildings work and how they should be built led him and Sharon to open their business, Beach House Inspections right here in Bay County. Beach House is very much a family business. Hank inspect houses, condos, townhouses and mobile homes for buyers as well as offering various insurance inspections for homeowners. In Sharon’s words, “He’s great with people, cars & houses!” Sharon and their daughter do the scheduling and bookkeeping and Sharon also accompanies Hank on inspections. “It’s our goal to help homeowners get to know their home before purchase by providing information on the condition of the home as well as needed maintenance.”

When it comes to giving back to their community, Sharon and Hank firmly believe in the saying “We are blessed to be a blessing”. After seeing our Executive Director, Niki Kelly, on the news one day, Sharon was inspired by Niki’s passion and began to do some research on our organization. The background of abuse in Sharon’s own childhood and the abuses she knew were happening to women in her time in Gallup led her to have her own passion for the health and well-being of girls and women. “I truly believe that giving our girls a safe place to be protects them from harm such as this. And your organization provides that safe place. More than that, your organization provides hope for a better life.”

Sharon and Hank live by the creed blessed to be a blessing and Girls Inc. of Bay County couldn’t agree more because they are most certainly a blessing to us! We are grateful and honored to have them in our corner as true Champions for Girls!
